It substantially reduces patients’ quality of life. Its clinical features and mechanisms of the development have not been studies sufficiently.</p><p><bold>Aim. </bold>To analyze clinical features of fatigue in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.</p><p><bold>Materials and methods. </bold>Forty two patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis were recruited to the study. Fatigue was assessed using the Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory (MFI-20). The independent predictors of the severity of fatigue were calculated using linear regression analysis.</p><p><bold>Results. </bold>Fatigue was detected in 27 (64 %) patients. The most common type of fatigue was reduced activity, the least common – general fatigue. Severity of depression and motor neurological deficit were independent predictors of fatigue according to general MFI-20 score.</p><p><bold>Conclusion. </bold>Fatigue in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is wide spread phenomenon. Its clinical features include both physical and mental components.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p><bold>Введение.</bold> Астения (патологическая усталость) широко распространена при заболеваниях нервной системы. Она существенно снижает качество жизни пациентов. Ее клинические особенности и механизмы развития изучены недостаточно.</p><p><bold>Цель исследования</bold> – проанализировать клинические особенности астении у пациентов с боковым амиотрофическим склерозом.</p><p><bold>Материалы и методы</bold>. В исследование включено 42 пациента с боковым амиотрофическими склерозом. Оценка астении проводилась с помощью Субъективной шкалы оценки астении (MFI-20). Для выявления независимых предикторов тяжести астении был выполнен множественный линейный регрессионный анализ.</p><p><bold>Результаты.</bold> Астения отмечалась у 27 (64 %) пациентов. Чаще всего выявлялась пониженная активность, реже всего – общая астения. Выраженность депрессии и двигательного неврологического дефицита были независимыми предикторами выраженности астении по общему показателю шкалы MFI-20.</p><p><bold>Выводы.</bold> Астения при боковом амиотрофическом склерозе является распространенным феноменом.
